Mest Bar & Kök
your comments review this restaurant
We passed this place by at first, but were very glad we gave it a chance. Being indoctrinated into the UK mindset, we saw somewhere with a restaurant side and a bar side and immediately expected it to be a noisy and smoky eatery and more of a last resort. Not so in Sweden where smoking is not permitted in public places. The menu shown on the outside of the building looked appetising and the menu we were given at the table also (thankfully) had an English translation.
All in all, the food was excellent, with a good range of Swedish and international cuisine. Service was also first rate, with very friendly staff only too willing to politely educate you into the nuances of dining in Sweden [for those bothered - close the menu when you're ready to order, and knife and fork at twenty past four when you've finished]. We even went back the following night and were glad the previous night's experience hadn't been a one off.
